Tsavo East & West National Parks occupy 21,000 square kilometres. Tsavo East National Park is a total of 11,747 square kilometres. It is one of Kenya's oldest and largest National Parks: covering approximately 40 per cent of the total area of all Kenya's National Parks.

There is a wide variety of animals to be seen in Tsavo East National Park: lion,
leopard, cheetah, zebras, giraffes, serval cats, antelopes, kongoni, lesser kudu,
oryx, klipspringer, impala, stripped hyena, gazelles, buffalos and elephants. Some
500 bird species have been recorded in the area, including ostrich and some migratory
kestrels, while buzzards stop at Tsavo-

Across the river is the incredible 300 kilometre long (186 mile) Yatta Plateau, one
of the world’s largest lave flows. Midway the Galana river cascades down Lugard Falls,
named after Lord Lugard, who volunteered for the British Diplomatic Services in East
Africa, the falls are renowned for the remarkable shaped water-
